So I started watching “Falling Skies” and at first I was like “eh”. But DAMN THE ENDING OF THE SECOND SEASON. WOW - GOOD JOB
onto season 3!
Enjoy!! Season 4 is just three months away!!!
I hope you’re loving it! Hope to see you joining the Falling Skies Family soon!
It isn’t hard to see that Falling Skies is a male driven show but I don’t think that discounts the representation that women have in the show. You think about the females you see, Anne, Lourdes, Jeanne and even Karen, these characters are strong, make independent decisions and while they have their weaknesses, as everyone does, they are strong. I think Maggie is the best representation of the vast difference in strength and weakness, that someone can go from being so powerless to so powerful and while I think Hal definitely played a part no one becomes strong without choosing to and it’s clear from how Maggie acts that she chose to be a stronger person, to make better decisions and this is why she is my favourite female character.
Halgie AU [2/?] - Hal was the popular guy, the captain of the lacrosse team, and the rigid good looks. Maggie was the beautiful, underrated, brainiac who had never even seen a lacrosse game in her entire life.
When the captain of the lacrosse team set his sights on something, it was his for the taking. His sights were set on the blonde brainiac from fourth period study hall. After days and weeks and months of his pursuit, Hal was getting frustrated that he could barely get her attention, let alone have a steady conversation with her. Finally he gained some leverage in his advances. He needed a tutor, and what do you know, Maggie happened to have an opening in her schedule.
Maggie tutored Hal in calculus, and Hal ‘tutored’ her in the game of lacrosse, or he at least tried to, but she never actually listened to a word of it.
After being tutored by Maggie for three weeks, Hal was sick of talking numbers with her, and decided to do something about it. The next day, he walked right through the school entrance, straight up to Maggie, who was standing at her locker, and kissed her. Maggie wasn’t very surprised, but the rest of the school was. Hal and Maggie were the talk of the school for a while, “The brain and the athlete”. Who knew?
Now if he could only get her to one of his lacrosse games.
